innovation

It’s pretty simple. We want to be the best. That’s why NSW Miners are always striving to improve what we do and how we do it.

In mining, we’re faced with challenges all the time. When we’re confronted with a challenge, we harness our innovative spirit to minimise our impact on the environment, the community, and to keep our workers healthy and safe.

Innovations developed locally are driving improvements in mines around the world. Over 60% of mining software used worldwide is developed here in Australia – that’s something we can all be proud of. (DFAT Website 2008)

NSW Miners have also developed the best virtual reality training facilities, used to develop expertise that has led recent mine rescue missions in Tasmania, Chile and New Zealand.

Our mine health and safety is the best in the world and other countries aspire to our record. But we won’t rest and that’s why we’re coming up with new innovative ways to protect our workforce, the environment and to minimise our impacts.
