Licence to Drive Featured at World Class Miners Launch
At the launch of World Class Miners in Newcastle we heard some great stories about how NSW Miners are supporting local community groups.
We heard from Muswellbrook PCYC’s De-anne Douglas, who spoke about the Licence to Drive program that’s supported by Mt Arthur Coal. De-anne explained that in remote areas, obtaining a licence can be a challenge because learner drivers are required to accumulate 120 hours of driving experience, putting financial pressure on families.
Mt Arthur Coal supports this program and has provided two cars for use by the learner drivers. Mine employees also give up their time to help train and mentor the drivers.
We’ve uploaded a video taken at the launch so that you can hear more about the program.
