Miners provide support for people in need
October 31, 2011

Glencore Xstrata has granted $200,000 over two years to Community Links Wollondilly for a new program, the Back on Track Crisis Support Project, which will offer short-term crisis support in the region south west of Sydney.

The grant will cover the wage of a counsellor over two years and will support people in need with accommodation, food supplies, transport and electricity. They also help with referrals to specialist support services such as financial, legal and mental healthcare providers.

Glencore Xstrata’s support will also help Community Links Wollondilly develop a strategic plan and to attract long-term government funding.
